De directeur van het Centraal Nautisch Beheer Noordzeekanaalgebied, tevens (Rijks-)havenmeester, maakt het volgende bekend:
Vanaf week 23 t/m week 33 wordt in het Middenbinnentoeleidingskanaal de bouwkuip van het buitenhoofd Nieuwe zeesluis verwijderd. De werkzaamheden worden vanaf maandag tot vrijdag van 07:00-19:00 uur uitgevoerd met het kraanschip ‘Tunny’ (afm. l: 32,1m, b: 15,3m) met langszij de bak ‘Attack 42’. (afm. l: 45 m, b: 11 m)

Situatieoverzicht
Gedurende bovenstaande periode is de Middensluis beperkt toegankelijk.
Op aangeven van de VTS Noordzeekanaal wordt de bak ‘Attack 42’ weggehaald, echter blijft het kraanschip ‘Tunny’ in positie liggen. Gelet op de plaatselijke windrichting, -kracht en manoeuvreer eigenschappen van het schip, kan de scheepvaart aangeven gebruik te willen maken van de Noordersluis.
Bij langdurige storingen, congestie of stremmingen van de Noordersluis, wordt bovenbedoelde beperkte toegang van de Middensluis tijdelijk opgeheven.
Na afronding van deze werkzaamheden wordt vervolgd met het verwijderen van de bouwkuip rond het binnenhoofd Nieuwe zeesluis. Het is de verwachting dat de scheepvaart hiervan geen hinder ondervindt.

The Director of the Central Nautical Management North Sea Canal Area, who is also the (State) Harbour Master, announces the following:
The cofferdam of the outer head of the IJmuiden new sea lock in the Middenbinnentoeleidingskanaal will be removed in the period from week 23 to 33 (01 June to 10 August 2020).
The removal operations will take place from Monday to Friday daily from 07.00-19.00 LT. The works will be carried out by crane ship “Tunny”, which has the following dimensions: L 32.10 metres and B 15.30 metres. Alongside “Tunny” will be moored barge “Attack 42” with the following dimensions: L 45 metres and B 11 metres.

Description of the situation
There will be restricted access to the IJmuiden Middle Lock during the above-mentioned period in which the removal operations take place.
At the direction of the VTS (Traffic Service North Sea Canal, VHF 03), the barge “Attack 42” can be removed, but crane ship “Tunny” will remain in position.
With regard to the actual wind direction and speed at the location in relation to the ship’s manoeuvrability, ships may indicate that they prefer to pass through the North Lock instead of the Middle Lock.
In the event of prolonged malfunctions, congestions or closures of the North Lock, the restricted access to the Middle Lock will be temporarily lifted.
After the removal operations of the outer head cofferdam have been completed, the removal of the inner head cofferdam of the new sea lock will begin. It is expected that this will cause no disruption to shipping traffic.
