David Penschek has been appointed to the management team at BUSS HGK Logistics GmbH & Co. KG with effect from 1 August 2021. The 33-year-old follows in the footsteps of Wolfgang Nowak, who will in future focus on the short-sea business activities within the HGK Group. In his new position, Penschek will manage the company’s operating business together with Morten Lund. 
 
BUSS HGK Logistics is a joint venture involving HGK Shipping and the Hamburg-based port service provider Buss Port Logistics. Since 2012, the company has been successfully operating, among other things, the works port for Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann (HKM) in Duisburg, through which the steel works are supplied with raw materials, and a steel dispatch warehouse at the port site.
 
David Penschek will expand and continue to develop the existing business at BUSS HGK Logistics. “The team has performed extremely well during the last few years, despite the tough conditions imposed by the pandemic. This has only been possible through the excellent leadership provided by Wolfgang Nowak and we’d like to take this opportunity of thanking him once again for his work. It’s now essential for us to continue strengthening the existing logistics network for the benefit of our customers and creating additional value added for them. Moreover, I’ve set myself the goal of enhancing the company’s portfolio with new lines of business,” the managing director explains.
 
David Penschek has been working for HGK Shipping GmbH since 1 July 2021. He is taking over this position at BUSS HGK Logistics in addition to his job as Head of Corporate Development at HGK Shipping. He started his professional career at Lehnkering GmbH, which later became Imperial GmbH, with a special focus on chemical logistics. He was employed in various positions there, including business development manager and most recently head of the Chempark sites at Krefeld-Uerdingen, Dormagen and Leverkusen. Penschek moved to duisport in 2018, where he took over as manager of Masslog, a joint venture involving HTAG, Dev.log and Umschlag Terminal Marl GmbH.
