Duisburg. Yesterday, 25 April 2024, Europe’s largest inland shipping company HGK Shipping launched a highlight from its fleet: In the presence of customers, including the godmother from BASF, the modern tanker “GAS 95” was officially put into operation in the Port of Duisburg. The new diesel-electric-powered vessel, which has been in service since the beginning of the year, operates between the ARA ports and various transshipment ports on the Rhine for customers from the chemical industry. Its draught optimization ensures operational readiness even in low water phases.

The gas tanker operates with low emissions thanks to its diesel-electric drive and is optimized for low water levels due to its design. Foto: HGK Shipping
