De bedrijven TechBinder en Weconnect hebben een partnerovereenkomst gesloten om de digitalisering in de wereldwijde maritieme sector te versnellen met de lancering van Smart Vessel Optimizer. Door deze toepassing krijgen stakeholders en rederijen doorlopend toegang tot informatie overal waar schepen opereren, dankzij de bewezen intelligentie op het gebied van datacollectie, analyse en visualisatie in combinatie met wereldwijde stabiele dataconnectiviteit.
 
TechBinder heeft Smart Vessel Optimizer ontwikkeld op basis van bewezen industriële software van AVEVA en Schneider Electric. Met de software kunnen gebruikers data, afkomstig van verschillende systemen (op zee), beschikbaar krijgen en combineren. Hierdoor is monitoring van specifieke prestatievariabelen van een schip mogelijk, zoals bijvoorbeeld brandstofgebruik, oorzaak van alarmmeldingen, romp- en motorprestaties en voorspelling van defecte apparatuur.
 
Connectiviteit van groot belang

Het gebruik van Smart Vessel Optimizer verlaagt de operationele kosten en verbetert het rendement van schepen en processen. Door sterk verbeterde connectiviteit kunnen afdelingen en stakeholders binnen de scheepvaart en offshore via dashboards real-time essentiële informatie raadplegen en inzien.
 
Het gebruik van 3G/4G-communicatie is vanwege het internationale werkveld van veel schepen een uitdaging. Reders werden hierdoor tot voor kort gedwongen om over de hele wereld meerdere contracten voor 4G-internet te beheren, met een verscheidenheid aan voorwaarden zonder zekerheid over de beschikbaarheid en prestaties van mobiele netwerken. De samenwerking met Weconnect zorgt nu voor de beschikbaarheid van meerdere netwerken per land en voor een nog betere uptime en prestatie. Tevens worden oplossingen geboden die de afstand tussen zendmast (land) en het schip verlengen.
